We had mold and mildew from a slow leak indoors...after fixing the leak and using the Germ Guardian...whew...fresher air!

I really like both the kennel care cost and the certificate towards pet adoption cost suggestions. I can easily imagine sliding over the kennel/boarding cost in my mind:)

I wish there had been the sanitizing wand twenty-some years ago. My housemate had a lovely chocolate Lab that did the wee-wee of joy whenever "Mom" came in the door:)

So blue light is an important part of the SAD treatment? Maybe that's why blue is such a popular color in interior design -- and so frequently, "the 'new black,' " as it were.

I'd be interested to know which types of trees -- although probably it would turn out to be something that's everywhere:) Maybe, since it's been previously reported in tropical and subtropical climates, it's just getting hardier? Or it hitched a ride with people from those warmer areas and the fungus finds the cold stimulating rather than destructive -- like Russians and Finns leaping into the snowbanks after their time in the sauna.

Hmm. I wonder how my mother would like it for her art studio. She's got western exposure -- but it's the grey light of western, coastal Washington. She does watercolors, mostly of landscapes.

Actually one of the biggest sources of formaldehyde in homes is the fiberglass wall insulation. The formaldehyde can no longer escape through the exterior wall because it cannot penetrate the exterior house wraps used but goes right through drywall. An exterior wall with sun exposure will produce signficantly more formaldehyde because formaldehyde increases rapidly with small increases in temperature. The off-gassing will continue for decades. The carpet underlayment installed in my home back in 1963 was still increasing the formaldehyde concentration in room air to 13 times the maximium concentration recommended by the State of California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessments. It is no wonder the rate of asthma and cancer started increasing with the energy codes that required homes to be wrapped in insulation. It has only been three decades and we still claim that we don't understand.
